SOFIA, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed and eight others were injured in a bus accident on Saturday in Bulgaria, the country's prosecutor's office said in a statement.
The accident took place around 2 a.m. local time near the village of Krusheto, some 250 km northeast of the country's capital Sofia, when a bus with Romanian registration hit a Dutch-registered car which was stopped on the side of the road, the statement said.
Three passengers in the bus died on the spot and the fourth died in a hospital, the statement said. Of the four victims, three were Romanian citizens and one was a Turkish citizen.
According to the statement, there were no people in the car at the time of the collision, while 24 passengers and two drivers were on the bus.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
